Getting started

I was lucky enough to be able to gradually find my place at AVM. It all started back in 2016, when I got in touch to see if I could do the mandatory internship part of my bachelor's degree at AVM. After that, I was able to get a student job here. People were always ready to listen – not just when I had questions, but when I had a different opinion, too. This feeling of working together as equals is something I still enjoy to this day. I've been a permanent employee since 2020.

I joined AVM in 2020, straight after finishing my mathematics degree. I was very well looked after right from the start. AVM places a lot of trust in its employees. Goals are clearly defined, but we can decide how we get there. At AVM, I get to enjoy all the freedom you find in a startup combined with the security of working for a large company.

I like the people at AVM. They're excited about what they do and are exceptionally helpful. The glass doors you see around our offices are not just for show – they represent openness in every respect. When I have a question, I can approach anyone at any level and speak openly with them. I really appreciate that.

Nobody cares about your background, gender, or what you look like. That's how it's been for me for more than 25 years at AVM. I started here straight after finishing my computer science degree. The atmosphere is very friendly – everyone is ready to help everyone else when they need it. I switched to a different team a year ago, so I had to learn the ropes again. My colleagues and my supervisor were very supportive. Everyone is always included, no matter whether they're new or have been around for a long time.
