The AVM journey as told by Stephanie Blankenburg, People Development Functional Manager

Flexible collaboration as equals.

I like the people at AVM. They're excited about what they do and are exceptionally helpful. The glass doors you see around our offices are not just for show – they represent openness in every respect. When I have a question, I can approach anyone at any level and speak openly with them. I really appreciate that.

Plenty of creative freedom

I work in people development, and I’m able to contribute many of my own ideas. The areas I cover are extremely diverse, including management development, employee development, succession planning, and beyond. It's ultimately about providing interesting opportunities for the people in our company. As for how it's done – it's achieved with a great deal of enthusiasm for this work, and well-conceived strategies. It's a fascinating job, with many touchpoints with other departments.

Family and work – it works

I'm a mother of two, so it's important for me to have the flexibility to work part time while still holding a position of responsibility. That works amazingly well at AVM. For example, there are never any meetings at 6 p.m. And nobody minds if I have to rush off to the kindergarten in the afternoon sometimes. I also love the way I'm able to pursue my own passions. That's how I was able to launch health initiatives such as 'Ergonomics @ Home' and 'Work-Life Balance', which received a lot of positive feedback.
